The ExCB Story

My Mission

I have set out to give the fashion industry a unique alternative to today’s mass-produced accessories.

“It’s not about selling my items, it’s about making them.”

Alexander Draven Playing with Fire

Alexander Draven is an award-winning designer and metalsmith known best for his unique take on timepieces as wearable sculptures. Inspired by Art Deco line work with a retro-futurist flair, Alexander uses only hand tools to create completely original items in Akron, Ohio.

"My process takes considerable time, effort and skill... there's no reason to create something that already exists."

Soon after receiving a BFA in studio art and metalsmithing from The Myers School of Art at The University of Akron, Alexander became a full-time artist in 2015. The Exquisite Corpse Boutique was born out of the desire for something different. Fast fashion products are cookie cutter and boring. Alexander realized he could make exactly what he wanted to wear, and quickly discovered his growing clientele wanted pieces with a similar aesthetic.

In addition to being the sole proprietor of The ExCB, he also teaches jewelry workshops at The Canton Museum of Art throughout the year.
